The manufacturer had implemented an unconstrained Stand-Alone ERP system which was developed in-house and had restricted functionalities. The manufacturer followed make to order scenario. The manufacture was unable to provide Available to Promise dates to customers due to uncertainty in procurement of supplies. There was excessive high lead times, as the manufacturer planned orders according to material availability, resulting in high wait times and set up time. |

Lighthouse Solution was able to integrate with the ERP system and defined all the unavailable data such as supplier information, lead times etc in the database. Lighthouse generated a production plan based on the lead time for supplies and the capacity constraints. The work orders grouped similar items to minimize the set-up times. Set up times were allocated in the non-working hours to further reduce the lead times. The material and capacity constraints were incorporated along with dynamic constraints such as machine breakdowns, unexpected delays etc. to generate Available to Promise dates. |
